The Playa Hotel is in Almunecar, overlooking the calm Mediterranean, and is considered to be one of the prettiest and most picturesque spots of the Tropical Coast of Granada. The area gets its name from the mountain landscape rising from the sea where avocados, custard apples, mango, papayas and bananas grow. The town has some historical buildings and steep winding streets dating back to the middle ages.
