The Panorama Hotel’s an ideal base for exploring Skiathos. There’s a bus stop right outside the front of the entrance, making it a piece of cake getting to the island’s taverna-filled capital, Skiathos Town. In terms of atmosphere, it puts all its effort into being as peaceful as possible. You’ll find the hotel in a tree-carpeted area next to a lake, on a street that’s home to a couple of family-run restaurants. One of Skiathos’ most-popular sandy strips, Koukounaries Beach, is a 10-minute walk away. To get there, all you have to do is follow the path around the lake and through a protected pine forest. There are a couple of watersports centres on Koukounaries Beach, where you can try wakeboarding* and water-skiing*.
The pool's the headliner here, sitting at the front of the hotel with views looking out to the nearby lake. It's got a snack bar off to the side that serves drinks throughout the day. The restaurant dishes up a mix of Mediterranean meals and has a terrace right by the pool – ideal for al fresco dining. A buffet breakfast is served every morning, with an à la carte menu on offer for lunch and dinner.
