Relaxation is par for the course at the Marylanza Suites – and there’s no better spot to unwind than by the swimming pools. There are two in total, with top billing going to the main one – a lake-sized number complete with in-water seats. Both pools are surrounded by terraces, with palms and shrubs providing plenty of shady areas.

Over at the spa you’ll find a sauna, a Turkish bath and a lengthy list of massage treatments. The active crowd, meanwhile, are catered for with a gym and squash courts.

As for the rooms, they’re housed in low-level stone-coloured buildings set around the pools. From the outside, tiled roofs, white pillars and picket-fenced balconies strike a traditional vibe. Inside, the décor revolves around whitewashed walls, light-wood furniture and bursts of colour courtesy of bright soft-furnishings. Separate lounge areas and kitchenettes provide plenty of space, while mod-cons come in the form of air-conditioning, satellite TVs and internet access.

When it comes to mealtimes, the spotlight falls on the hotel’s new à la carte restaurant, which serves up the likes of fresh seafood and international favourites. There’s also a buffet restaurant, as well as a snack bar by the pool. And, best of all, because this place is All Inclusive, all your food and drink are part of the package.

If you’d rather head out to eat, cafés and restaurants are about a 15-minute walk away. And the beach is roughly the same distance.
