Location is key at this hotel – you’re within easy reach of both the marina and the old quarter of Hammamet, plus there’s a sandy beach close by.

Menara is set in the south of Hammamet, 5 minutes’ drive from the marina and around 10 from the medina. A 5-minute walk takes you to a sandy beach, and another 5 will bring you to the Lilas’ private section, where you’ll find loungers and parasols.

Back at the hotel, you’ll find more sunbathing spots on the tiled terrace and well-kept lawn. They frame an L-shaped pool, which has a separate shallow section for children. Little ones have also got a playground and a kids’ club to keep them busy.

Next to the pool, a bar serves drinks and snacks under a shady thatched roof, while the main restaurant takes care of meal times with pick-and-mix buffet spreads of international dishes.

As for the rooms, they keep things simple with light-wood furniture and white-and-mint colour schemes. Each one has a balcony or terrace, too.
